WoJ: card & a candy winner

Hello, sorry for the lack of posts this weekend - this card just seemed to take forever to come together & I don't like to start a new card until I've finished the one I'm working on! So what with that, me working weekends and then an hour long powercut in the early hours yesterday/today (even though most people would have been asleep that's when I craft/tinker on the pc being the night owl that I am) I've only just finished it.

so anyway, here it is. Wanted to try a collagy/distressed look with handsome little Oakley from the Winter kit.
I've stamped a WoJ xmas tree to one side and him to the front then masked him and added music sheet behind him (an Magnolia 'silent night' stamp from last year). Then it's all been sponged with distress inks and all the edges have been set upon with my distresser. It's been spritzed with glimmer mist but it doesn't show at all in the photo and the little bauble has diamond glaze and glamour dust over it. After all that, I'm not quite sure I like it but it's done now!

  • Stamps: Oakley & tree - WoJ. Music & the merry christmas seal- Magnolia
  • Colouring: Images coloured with Copics, background sponged with distress inks
  • Paper: MME 'signiture Christmas'
  • Tools:Heidi swapp distresser, mini holly punch
  • Others: ribbon, red half backed pearls, white bellas baubles, white gel pen for faux stitching

  • Right, now for the real reason you popped over. . .

The winner of my mini WoJ candy - sorry for the delay!

Random.org isn't working tonight so I've had to randomly pick a winner (very technical - I closed my eyes and scrolled up & down then clicked on a name :D)

So without further ado, the winner of this little lot is . . . Chrissie

Congrats! Please email me your snail mail and it's yours!

That's all for now. Have a lovely evening.

    Mini WoJ Candy time

    NOW CLOSED.

As promised here's another little candy from me, which includes the cute 'Uru with bird' WoJ rubber stamp, courtesy of Katharina and some MME papers and paper flowers from me. To enter please post a link of this on your blog (or just spread the word if you don't have a blog) and enter via Mister Linky (NOT via comments)

Will announce winner (using random.org) on 22nd Nov. Good luck!

    CCT-teen terrors: 'Christmas fun'

CCT this week wants to see cards for teenagers. I'm afraid mine's a bit uninspired this week as I suddenly didn't feel too well last night and needed an early night. (suddenly got sniffles & sneezes and very tired thought I was coming down with cold but seems to have gone today :)) AOL kept playing up too so had to leave it till now to post.

So anyway, teen cards means bright funky colours & simple clean layouts to me and thought it was great opportunity for me to dig out some Kerry Jo stamps I got last year but never got round to using them all. Think they are perfect teen images, just a shame I couldn't come up with something better layout wise, but this was quick and simple.

    It's a kick stand card, so here's another shot of it, folded flat and also should be able to see all the glitter better;

    Stash:
  • Stamps: 'Kerry Jo Christmas' set
  • Colouring: Copics
  • Paper:scrap from Cosmo Cricket 'Jolly by Golly' and kraft card base
  • Tools: MS loopy around the page border set, MS snowflake punch (not sure about the large one, it was a freebie diecut in 1 of my orders from Dies to Die for)
  • Others: faux stitching and lots of stickles

    PTW: Bernadette 'warm wishes'

O.K I'm back with a card that is slightly sweeter than my last post :/
Not played along to PTW for a while but this week's was a nice simple sketch which I couldn't resist. I've used this cute snow bunny I got from Silly Monkey's but have only just got around to using (just like all my other stamps). She does come with a cute sentiment (you're snow sweet) but I've not used it here as the background was busy enough. Can't tell from photo but the bunny is on 3D foam so pops off the card more than it looks.

    Stash:

  • Stamps: 'Bernadette' Kraftin Kimmie from Silly Monkey
  • Colouring: Copics
  • Paper:BG 'Eskimo kisses'
  • Tools: Cuttlebug die for the corner flourishes, 'labels 3' nesties dies, MS snowflake punches
  • Others: brads, stickles

That's all for tonight, thanks for popping by. Off to make another poo . . . of the crochet kind LOL (see post below)! and maybe another card or two as it's definitely crafting weather again tonight (the wind's howling away outside as I type).

  • Cr*ppy xmas presents!

O.K I said I'd show you what I've been crocheting for xmas presents for my nephews.

So here is my first trial run. . . Now it's real toilet humour so be warned :D. . . . Yup, the Ulitimate in cr*p/s**t/poo (whatever word you want to use!) presents! (well, it beats getting knitted socks from your Auntie doesn't it?!) . .
I knew I had to crochet this Amigurumi poop as soon as I saw it and I thought they would make hilarious side gifts for my 4 nephews who range in ages 10 to 23. Well it made me chuckle and hubby agreed (he's as nuts as me). Just to make sure they'd know what it was I designed a paper toilet to put them in :D - was quite proud of myself for coming up with one (good old oval nesties to the rescue :D) The one in the photo is a prototype and I need to adjust it slightly (as it's not quite straight!) Oh and I have since bought some different shades of wool so they'd all get slightly different ones LOL check out the colours and texture to some of them (I know, I'm sick) oh and I didn't realise until I went to pay that one ball was 100% wool rather than acrylic so that's gonna be some expensive s**t!
I'll probably stick a candy cane sweet in with it or something like that just to make it a bit more festive! If anyone's wondering, the crochet pattern was another one I found over on the Ravelry website.
Hope none of you are eating as you are reading this, sorry if you are! I will be back later with a card (got the evening off this week, so more play time for me :)), just need to photo it first and get my CCT card done for tomorrow.

Fri Sketchers with a crochet snowflake

Mojo on the wane again, so had to kick start it with the sketch over on Friday sketchers - lovely simple one, just what I needed! Great way to use up some scraps of this gorgeous Bo Bunny paper with another cute Christmas Gnome stamp from WoJ (as are the swirls and snowflakes around it). I took the opportunity to try making a crochet snowflake for the first time (free pattern downloaded from Ravelry). Didn't take long to make at all (especially as I didn't bother pinning it out to stiffen it etc but I think it's fine for what I need it for).
Sorry for the lack of posts/visits recently but been trying to fit in some crochet items I want to get finished for little christmas stocking fillers and been working on making a box to put it in (will post that soon) so my postings may be a bit erratic for the time being and I think I'll skip with the stash lists (will just mention main items used as I go and if you need to know anything just leave comment). I will be back bit later with another WoJ mini candy give away (it's one of the christmas gnomes).

birthday card & bit more crochet

Have had this LOTV image coloured up for a while now but finally made it into a birthday card as it needs to get to Hong Kong by Thursday ('last minute' is my middle name I think :D). I just adore these images and have just ordered some of the new ones that have just come out even though I've not used most of the first batch yet! Well, they won't go off will they? . . and at £3.50 how could I resist?!

    Stash:
  • Stamps: 'little girls story time' - LOTV, sentiments are from a Woodware and Papermania set
  • Colouring: Copics
  • Paper: BG 'nook & pantry'
  • Tools: oval nesties, MS around the page border punch, SU word window punch
  • Others: pink adhesive pearls

  • ****************************

After my last crochet attempt with my moose which took a while I wanted to go back to doing something quick & simple. Now, I love the little Japanese Momiji dolls (I have a few) and my neice found me this free crochet pattern which reminded me of them, so I had to try!

I adapted it a bit as I wanted a more accentuated head/body and managed to make the body all in one piece (the patteren has it as 2 seperate bits) which I am well chuffed with as I am complete novice :). Made use of some of my beading things for her hair accesory. It's about the same size as the dolls (3.5" tall) and I think they will look cute when I make a couple more and put them together. I'm going to adjust the hair pattern next time too as it's a bit too big for my liking. What do you think?

Well, that's all from me until Monday I think. Have a lovely weekend and hope the forecasted UK storms aren't too bad your way.
